Pop Art Tacos!

To start off the new school year, 3rd grade studied the Pop Art movement and its artists.  We were inspired by the repetitive, colorful artwork of Andy Warhol's soup cans and celebrity portraits when we created a series of taco drawing.  The students measured, drew and used one directional coloring to create these vibrant artworks.  They thought about complementary colors and contrast when they choose their color schemes.  It was a good refresh for art skills after a year and a half out of the art room.  Finally, the students created a large installation artwork when they worked as a group to install their artwork in the public space of the Buker front hallway. Great job 3rd grade!
