::: Self-Expression with Basquiat & Kahlo :::

Fifth grade students studied the lives and artwork of Frida Kahlo & Jean-Michel Basquiat.  We focused on the elements that they used in their painting to show their personalities and feelings.  Afterwards, fifth grade students created an artwork that expressed what they were thinking and what they were interested in drawing.

First, they painted a class mural adding in words and handprints.  Next, they cut up the mural to create a background.  Then, they used color pencils, markers and metallic sharpies to complete their drawings.  To finish, they cut and glued their drawings to the background paper.  Great Job Cutler 5th grade!
