Fifth grade students studied the life an art of John James Audubon.  We looked close at his book Birds of America published in the late 1820s.  First, each student chose a bird from the book.  Then, they drew it using watercolor pencils and other drawing materials.  Some students chose to use paper collage to complete their composition while others used paint.   All students did an excellent job using proportion, color, balance, and unity in their artworks!
