Artist Inspiration: Georgia O’Keeffe

Fourth grade students at Cutler Elementary are studying Georgia O’Keeffe and her artwork. They are studying the Southwestern United States and O’Keeffe is well known for her desert art of that region.  Next week, students will cut their painting into large flowers and add details.  Then, they will install the flowers into a large installation artwork displayed in the Cutler Gallery. We will discuss the outcome, reflect on the work as a whole and discuss the concepts of creating artwork for a large audience.
